AQC103: Two vials of stabilized human sperm, assayed concentrations between 5 and 60 mil per mL
AQC™ Sperm Count Quality Control is the only sperm count QC on the market that contains human sperm. Why is that important? Sperm have oval heads with a long tail. Since they refuse to line up in neat rows on the counting chamber, the overlapping tails cause visual confusion. Count surrogates such as latex beads do not mimic clinical specimens or proficiency challenges, so why would anyone use them as a sperm QC? (That’s what the Sperm Wizard wants to know!) Want to calibrate an instrument sizing channel or a counting chamber? Then beads are fine. Want to count sperm? Then use a QC that IS sperm. Besides, beads are packaged in two standard concentrations, lot after lot. We think that QC should be as varied as patient sperm counts are, so AQC103 lots are all different. Enhancing the product are the included Levey-Jennings plots of the mean and 2 standard deviations for easy graphical review of data. Each plot can be used as documentation of QC performance and any needed corrective actions so you can do something more valuable with your time than constructing plots and preparing data for inspection. Just hole-punch the chart, put it in the QC notebook and get down to the real work of helping patients find out what’s wrong with them.

Specifications
- Volume: Each unit contains 0.3 mL. With most sperm counting chambers, the volume is sufficient for 30 determinations.
- Shelf Life: Open vial shelf life is 6 weeks, closed vial shelf life is 12 months from date of manufacture. Store refrigerated at 5-15°C.
