Not all sperm are created equal

Sperm morphology is an important predictor of fertility, but its intense variation makes consistent and uniform classification difficult. Don't just hope for the best! Our Sperm Morphology Quality Controls are specifically designed to identify and document morphology classification using a known standard, allowing laboratories to maintain accuracy over time and multiple technologists.

Maintaining Precision

Our stained smears use our Modified Papanicolaou Stain to achieve crisp detail and structural delineation, and models ideal staining practice. Highly readable normal and abnormal smears with Levey-Jennings charts graphically depict classification trends over time, ensuring consistent results and reducing classification 'shift & drift'. The Sperm Morphology Quality Control works with both traditional and Strict classification systems, and additional available charts include mean and 2SD range for abnormal cell differential based on WHO 3rd edition classification.

Virtual Morphology

For labs that want the ability for multiple technologists to study the sperm morphology, we offer our groundbreaking VirtuMorph® Quality Control. Our approach has revolutionized sperm morphology proficiency testing and training and forms the basis of our SpermConfirm® Morphology Classification Method.

Using high resolution images of a Pap-stained semen smear, the VirtuMorph® is a composite image, either online or on paper stock, allowing for complete customization of percent normal and giving analysts the ability to study specific classifications objectively and collectively.

It is paired with one of our Sperm Morphology QC smears along with Levey-Jennings charts to track classification consistency and a discussion of classification rationale for ten numbered sperm. This product is especially suited for sperm morphology beginners and experts who work in labs where multiple technologists analyze morphology.
